Chamberlayne College is an 11 to 16 specialist school for the arts and promotes the pursuit of excellence for all its pupils within a caring and supportive environment. We are a Trust School working in partnership with the Southampton Education Trust (SET) which comprises of Southampton’s Universities, Colleges of FE, the Southampton NHS Trust and local businesses (including, for example, VT, Carnival and the Ports Authority). We also work in partnership with the Weston family of schools (across the phases), with Ernst and Young and IKEA. Partnership is at the centre of what we do and the most important relationship for us is that which we foster between pupils, families and staff.
The school respects the unique contribution which every individual can make to the community and strive to place this contribution within a clear framework which both embraces the highest possible academic aspirations and accepts individual differences in ability, aptitude and level of skills. This school is a learning community, its culture of teaching and learning unlocking each individual’s potential for self-fulfilment and preparing them to take their place within adult life as responsible, caring and committed citizens.
At the heart of the school is its creativity, where releasing the potential of every individual is shown through every aspect of its life, particularly in the quality of the relationships we engender and promote. These relationships not only look inwards but also reflect out to the wider community.
The school is a well-ordered community, providing a secure, structured environment for learning. It has a range of specialist facilities and offers extensive curriculum enrichment activities as well as the highest standards of teaching and learning. In addition to fulfilling the requirements of the National Curriculum through its teaching programme, Chamberlayne College specialises in the provision of a curriculum with a strong creative character, developing innovation, communication and performance skills.
I hope that what you see and read in this website will both inspire and inform you. However, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
